BONUS STUFF
BONUS BTS TRIVIA: My last day of filming, July 19, 2019, was the HOTTEST day of production for the entire season. The heat index in Chicago reached a sweltering 112° (F). It was HOT, and worse because we were indoors and couldn’t run the A/C while shooting. Wardrobe had me in a wool sport coat for start of the day, but I was able to convince them that my character would take it off as he worked the crime scene. Who says television is all glamour?
BONUS BTS INSIGHT: Apparently firefighters are not allowed to wear full beards as the facial hair can prevent their oxygen masks from forming an air-tight seal with the face, but a goatee is acceptable.
BONUS BTS INSIGHT: My scene was filmed entirely in the basement of what used to be an old slaughterhouse. It was dark, damp, and had a noxious odor. The crew did a tremendous job keeping the room up to OSHA codes - as an extra measure of caution, they hung a variety of crucifixes all around to ward off any evil spirits. There was fresh air blowing in between takes, but the crew still wore N95 masks while we were filming. The cast was not so fortunate. Needless to say, I spent as little time down there as possible, and did not get any other BTS photos.
ADDITIONAL BONUS INSIGHT: Considering the demonic subject matter of this series, it was not uncommon for the producers to bring in a priest to bless the various sets prior to filming. Additionally, many of the transportation vans used on this show were decked-out with crosses and other religious paraphernalia. Better safe than sorry.
BONUS STUFF
I was also cast in Episode 2.10 "Not Like This" as the 'Truck Driver' but my scene was cut from the episode. Nevertheless, I still had a day on the set.
I had one scene opposite Taraji P. Henson in the Season 2 premiere episode directed by series creator Lee Daniels but unfortunately, it was cut. Originally my character (a racist Teamster) only had one line but we did some scene work during rehearsal and a few more lines were added before we started filming. After we finished, Lee Daniels told me my work was “great,” which was nice to hear. Production had a strict “No Cameras” policy on set and I forgot my phone when I went to HMU, so I didn’t get any BTS shots other than these two of my trailer.

NO idea WHAT THIS IS…
…but it’s kinda cool so I included it here. It looks like it’s a children’s book or cartoon of some kind, but it seems clear the child in the image is cosplaying as Gachnar to great effect.
This was sent to me by a friend who also happens to be a huge BtVS fan. She stumbled across it online but didn’t know what it was from. If you have any information about its origin, please reach out and let me know so I can credit the artist/author properly.
